HydroBase provides hydraulic design review, product thickness selection, GRI GT16 specification clauses, BOQ templates, concrete mix design, and a 24/7 technical hotline - all included at no extra cost on qualified orders (500 m2+). Responses within 48 hours. No design fee, no consulting invoice.

Included on Every Qualified Order

What You Get at No Extra Cost

All services below are included with every qualified order. No consulting fee.

Hydraulic Design Review

We analyse your design velocity, slope gradient, wave height, and flow conditions - then confirm which product type and thickness is appropriate. Includes a written recommendation and any site-specific notes.

Specification & BOQ

GRI GT16-compliant specification clauses ready for insertion into your tender document. Bill-of-quantities templates in FIDIC, NEC, or local-standard format on request.

Concrete Mix Design

We specify the grout mix for your pump equipment, hose length, and ambient temperature - eliminating on-site mix improvisation. Includes water-cement ratio, admixture recommendations, and placement rate guidance.

Installation Method Statement

A step-by-step installation guide covering fabric deployment, pump connection, grouting sequence, panel overlap, and curing. Tailored to your site configuration and crew size.

24/7 Technical Hotline

Direct line to a HydroBase engineer during active installation works. Under 2-hour response time. Covers pump troubleshooting, grout consistency queries, and site-condition deviations.

GRI GT16 Test Certificates

Third-party lab test reports issued per production batch - tensile strength, hydraulic conductivity, UV resistance, and mass per unit area. Included with every order as standard.

Four Numbers We Need to Start

You don't need a completed design to contact us. Send what you have — we will identify what's missing and ask. Most design reviews start with four data points.

Application type
Canal lining / slope protection / bridge pier scour / coastal revetment / other
Site dimensions
Total area in m², slope length, channel width, or perimeter as applicable
Hydraulic conditions
Design flow velocity (m/s), design wave height (m), or flood return period
Project timeline
Construction start date and any delivery deadline — helps us confirm lead time
Site location
Country and region — needed for freight estimate and local-standard spec clauses

Enquiry to Design Package: 48 Hours

Most design reviews complete within one business day of receiving site parameters.

Submit Your Project Details

Email james@concretemattress.com with your application, site dimensions, hydraulic conditions, and project timeline. A drawing or site sketch helps but is not required.

One Product, Deep Knowledge

10 Years. One Product. 230+ Installations.

HydroBase makes only grouted mattress. Our engineers have solved the same installation problems — in canals, on slopes, around piers — 230 times. That depth doesn't exist at a general geosynthetics supplier.

10+ Years of Application Data
230+ installations across canal lining, slope protection, and bridge pier scour - our engineers have encountered and solved every site condition.
BOQ Support in Any Format
We prepare bill-of-quantities documentation in FIDIC, NEC, or local-standard format - ready for insertion into your tender package.
Concrete Mix Design Included
We specify the mix for your pump equipment and ambient temperature - eliminating the risk of on-site improvisation and grout failures.
No Extra Cost
Engineering support is included on qualified orders. There is no consulting fee for design assistance, BOQ preparation, or installation guidance.
48-Hour Substantive Response
All technical inquiries receive a substantive response within 48 hours - not an auto-acknowledgement, a real engineering answer.
Multi-Standard Specifications
Spec clauses can be issued under GRI GT16, GB 50286, CIRIA C742, or FHWA HEC-23 - whichever governs your project jurisdiction.
FAQ

Engineering Support Questions

Is engineering support really free?

Yes - design review, BOQ preparation, specification clauses, and installation guidance are included at no charge on qualified orders (typically orders of 500 m2 or more). There is no consultancy fee, no hourly rate, and no invoice separate from the product supply. For small trial orders or feasibility studies, contact us and we will confirm the scope.

What information do I need to provide to get a design?

For a design recommendation, we need: application type (canal, slope, bridge pier, etc.), site dimensions (length - width or total area), design flow velocity or wave height, slope gradient (for embankment applications), and your project timeline. A site survey or drawing helps but is not required to start the process.

How long does the design review take?

Standard design reviews are returned within 48 hours of receiving complete project data. Complex projects — large river training works, multi-phase canal schemes, or projects requiring drawdown analysis - may take 3-5 working days. We confirm the timeline when we acknowledge your inquiry.

Can you specify the concrete mix for my local batching plant?

Yes. We provide a mix design brief suited to your pump equipment, hose length, and ambient temperature range. If you share the aggregate grading and cement type available at your site, we adjust the specification accordingly. The mix design is included as part of the installation method statement.

Do you provide an on-site engineer during installation?

For large or complex projects, a HydroBase field engineer can be present during the installation phase. This is arranged on a project-by-project basis and may involve travel costs depending on the location. For the majority of projects, remote support via the technical hotline is sufficient and is included with every order.

What standards do your specifications follow?

Our primary standard is GRI GT16 (Geosynthetic Research Institute), which governs grouted geosynthetic composite performance. For international projects we also reference GB 50286 (China), CIRIA C742 (UK), and FHWA HEC-23 (USA scour protection). Specification clauses can be issued in any of these frameworks on request.
