What is a grouted mattress?
A grouted mattress (GGFM) is a double-layer woven geotextile fabric that is laid on a prepared surface and pumped full of fine-aggregate concrete on-site. The result is a flexible, articulated armour layer that conforms to the terrain and provides long-term protection against erosion, scour, and slope instability.

Can grouted mattress be installed underwater?
Yes. The geotextile fabric is laid on the bed or slope surface and grout is pumped through injection ports from the surface. No dewatering, cofferdam, or river diversion is required. We have completed bridge pier scour protection in up to 6 m water depth.
